KLKriminalitis

Now, on 7th Nov 2007 last year our fine Men In Blue managed to nab a drug courier who ought to have been featured in Singapore's Dumbest Criminals if there was such a show. Mr. Poopathi Chinaiyah Paliandi managed to get caught at KK Hospital carrying a red plastic bag full of 10 blocks of cannabis.

When arrested, the CNB officers actually identified the material initially as "vegetable matter". Now why anyone would assume a plant looking thing was affirmatively a vegetable is still a question to be answered. Perhaps any ex-CNB trained readers would like to clarify.

Poopathi was actually a courier and would have been paid $2000 for the delivery. He also was consuming his own product as urine tests later confirmed. He was sentenced to 12 years jail and 10 strokes of the cane recently on 29th March. He is appealing against District Judge Victor Yeo's sentence right about now; the same judge who said "He even had the audacity to conduct his clandestine trafficking activities in a hospital which attended to mostly women and young children."

The details of the proceedings in court are available HERE.

Now, why do we think this man needs a TV program all for himself? Observe where KK Hospital is situated and what OTHER significant buildings surround it:

speaking of ciminal activities...

I would like to share with you peepz a real event that happen a week ago in india..

My uncle is a pharmaceutical distributor in tamil nadu... his head office is in chennai.. He has his manager Mr Ramachandren... a very dedicated man to our family... a 50plus yr and a bachelor supporting his sister's family and parents... recently he was riding his trusty bike to Kannathal bus stand to transport my newly bought violin to trichy... which is why i feel so personally attached to this event...

Apperently he met with a hit and run accident... and lended in a coma... thank god two passerbys brought him to the hospital and called my uncle from the last dialled no. from the poor man's hp..

wait.. the worst is yet to come.. the hit and run vehicle was a police jeep... and they reported him as drunk and driving case so as to save their asses...

obviously my uncle has got at hand a report saying that his blood had no alcohol content...

So we only thought such things happen in the movies eh... hell no.. its for real... a violin gone can buy another... but a man as such gone.. i have nothing to say...

Am very sorry about that azzy. Maybe your dad should sue them. Others will learn. And I am horrified to hear this. Total recklessness. If the officers themselves are putting up such exemplification, officers who should be setting the right example in the first place, then I think they deserve a severe punishment. What has been done so far about this?

Hihi...

CNB officers cannot confirmed any stuff they apprehend as only DSA has the authority to confirm the derivatives of the stuff apprehended. As such arresting officers are taught to identify stuff such as cannabis/hash as vege matter, heroin/cocaine as white/yellow powerdery substance and pills with the markings found on them. This is to safeguard the officers as if they macham "hero" identify it as canabis and sekali DSA test as vepillai...sure kenna plug:)

cheers n have a good mon...and azzy sorry to hear abt yr uncle!Yeah u sld think about suing those police guys!

cheers

Praba.. well ramachendran uncle... is coming in and out of coma (the doc claims that its a good sign)... my uncle is still contemplating about whether to bring it to court... may pull in other probs(the usual tamil padam stuff).. but well.. he says he wants to leave to that uncle's family.. they are a very timid brahmin family... i only hope he recovers.. and nail these bums for police officers down...

Do bring this to court. I know the pain of losing someone dear oweing to the recklessness of others. And if the higher authorities are unwilling to do something about this, just slip some money under the table la. Sure bound to get work done in India.

Actually, there are plenty of double standards when it comes to the law & normal 'peasants' like us....'Elites' have not much to worry about.....But that's the way it is...

Praba... Slipping $$ under the table can be very easily done... it works every where... but it defeats the whole purpose of eliminating the "all are equal but some are more equal than others" thing.

Upon asking around... many have adviced to let it go... for it'll pull out a long string of dusty mess... in tamil padam the guy who questions with the "dhill" wins... here.. you just end up loosing too much for nothing.. and wat dwagster says is rather true... sad but true...
